Children’s Concert

Presented in partnership with First Methodist Church and Wood Library, join us for a free, lively 30-minute musical show for the whole family! Enjoy delightful performances by musical artists of the ChamberFest Canandaigua, spear-headed by charismatic co-artistic director cellist Amy Barston.  Recommended especially for ages 5-11, but all are welcome.

The Music

“Are You Scared, Darth Vader?” (illustrated by Adam Rex) is the centerpiece of our popular FREE music offering at First Methodist Church. Throughout the book, Darth Vader is challenged by a narrator who keeps trying to scare him. This read-along and musical journey will delight children and Star Wars fans alike!​ The event will feature original music from Star Wars. Fun fact: ChamberFest Artistic Director Kevin Kumar himself can be heard on the soundtrack of the most recent Star Wars movies, which he recorded in Hollywood with the composer, John Williams conducting.
