David Brickman
Violin
David Brickman took up the violin as a boy after falling in love with Nathan Milstein’s recording of the Mendelssohn Concerto. (Little did he know that it would be a decade before he would be ready to take a stab at it.)
After training at The Eastman School of Music and Indiana University, he began his orchestral career, though solo and chamber music repertoire are dearest to his heart. He enjoys playing as a guest at festivals, and has formed and performed extensively with two chamber groups, the Finger Lakes Chamber Ensemble and the Amenda Quartet.
David and his wife, violinist Pattie Sunwoo, have founded three companies: PlayMyPiece.com, which featured their own recordings of pedagogical violin repertoire from “Twinkle” through Vivaldi and Handel, Bodymind Float Center, a health spa which offers sensory deprivation tanks, and Hemp it UP!, a store which sold CBD and other hemp products. David volunteers at Isaiah House for the Dying, and works as a home health aide. He loves to cook and bake sourdough bread, work out, and to investigate the nature of this world we seem to live in.
